LOVE GOLF?
Say hello to Big’s Golf Club!
Here at Big’s (B.G.C.), a not-for-profit foundation, we are dedicated to educating, advocating, and honoring those affected by Alzheimer’s disease. We created B.G.C. after lovable friend, father, and golf enthusiast Don “Big Daddy” Ellen was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2017. Big Daddy loved golf - a lot! - and was a larger-than-life force who gave his time to important causes, and fostered relationships everywhere he went.
It’s our mission to celebrate Big Daddy’s legacy and acknowledge all those suffering in the fight against Alzheimer’s. We do this by organizing golf tournaments and social events that raise money for vital Alzheimer’s research; by providing resources to families impacted by Alzheimer’s; and by working alongside local Alzheimer’s chapters to raise awareness and generate support. If you love golf, know someone impacted by Alzheimer’s, or simply want to get behind a good cause... join Big’s Golf Club today!

OUR WHY
So who is Big?
It was Don Ellen’s big presence that earned him the nickname “Big Daddy”. He was the life of the party, a friend to all, with a killer work ethic… and a BIG passion for golf. He worked hard and played hard, and took pride in his relationships. To know him was to love him!
As a young man, Big played football for Louisiana State University and signed with the Miami Dolphins. He left to serve in the Vietnam War - the same year that the Dolphins won the Super Bowl! Read more here...
